Dr. Liesbeth Hermans is Professor of Constructive Journalism at the Research Centre Media of Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in Zwolle since 2016.
Her research concentrates on the impact Constructive Journalism can have on the Profession, the Product and the Public. The research also fits questions that arise in journalistic practice. She also works as an Associate Professor at the department of Communication Science, Radboud University in Nijmegen. There she is involved in the Master track Journalism and News Use.
She is coordinator of a longitudinal study ‘Dutch Journalists in the digital era’ that monitors developments within Journalism. In this capacity she is the Dutch representative in the international research project ‘Worlds of Journalism Study’, which primary objective is to understand the professional orientations of journalists, the conditions and limitations under which journalists operate, and the social functions of joumalism in a changing world.
